I searched for a cache in Mt. Airy forest, entering off of West Fork Road, past putz's. Since I decided to take a different trail <s>back to my car</s> out of the woods, I came out up in the portion where the playground is (near the frisbee golf course. I had to have Ken come get me.

It was one hell of a hike, but YES, I located the cache box.

Don't you worry about one of these searches being a trap for some psycho just waiting to see people follow the trail? Better be careful and don't go on these searches alone! I have some reservations and think a little more precaution may be in order?

and she didn't go alone did she...But: you had already met me several times, I had been to Trav/Gae's numerous times, I knew Jumper/Dana and BooBoo and Landroid so I had a history of being "safe".

GL, if you want to look at it in a paranoid fashion, almost any invitation that a person accepts could be something set up by a psycho.

Caches are submitted and approved before they are posted for the general public to access. I feel safer doing this, even if I were roaming in the woods by myself, than I do going to some bars, or even driving through some sections of town.

In all honesty, I am every bit as safe doing this on my own, as I am walking into a grocery store or fast food place at lunch time. Who's to say some psycho isn't going to rob it at just the same time I decide to patronize the place?

Both me and my husband (JDF's dad) are worried about JDF and her going to places like Mt. Airy ALONE!!!!! We all know that Mt. Airy has many, many wierdos hanging out there but since talking to JDF is like talking to a wall, all we can do is worry. And JDF wonders why I am gray !
